Behind the scenes #2: Old Studios...

Previously I showed you some of the tools of BOgear, but now I will reveal some of the studios that we have worked in over our short 2 years!

The early days:
Our very first workspace was a small 4m x 3m room.  This was just large enough to fit our first sewing machine and a mini-cutting table.  Unfortunately I don't have any photos of this set-up, but it was only for a very short period of time!

From here, we upgraded to a single car garage.  It was a tad bigger, but still a little cramped.  We had enough room to fit a second machine, as well as build a "massive" cutting table.  It seemed massive at the time (given that it was almost as big as our previous studio!), but we soon outgrew it!

Building the "massive" 1m x 2.5m cutting table (the top is a reclaimed wall from a on stage movie set!)

Putting the finishing touches to the table...

Main machine at the end, drawing table closest to the camera, and then cutting table extending into the studio space.

Up the far end away from the cutting table was the bag storage area...

And against the wall was the billboard storage...

And our meagre supplies of buckles, webbing and velcro.  This was a lot of supplies back when we first started!

The transition period:
From here we started to get more serious and so wanted to move to a bigger space.  This happened to be a "spare" bedroom.  And by spare I mean we emptied it and claimed it!

This felt bigger, but turned out to be about the same size as the single car garage only slightly shorter.  But it had the added bonus of built in storage space (it was after all a bedroom)!

Current set up:
Given that our last move wasn't really a step up in size, but rather across, we moved yet again... this time to our current set up!  It is approximately 50m2, which was massive when we first started, but is now feeling decidedly cramped!  Because we had a new space we decided to upgrade our cutting table...

The table is now 3m x 2m, which yet again is starting to feel a bit small...

And this is all I will reveal of our current set up so far!  Make sure you stay tuned for a behind the scenes look at the current BOgear studio...
